Welcome to Bethel International Church this morning. May your experience here enrich your life as we come together to celebrate and honour the One who deserves all the praise and adoration – Jesus Christ! Today is Palm Sunday, one week before Easter Sunday. It signifies the day when Jesus approached Jerusalem and the people praised him as king as they put down their cloaks and lay palm leaves to created a path of honour for him. This would be like rolling out the red carpet for royalty to walk upon. The people praised him saying, “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!” (Matthew 21:9) However a few days later, he received a crown of thorns, was mocked and flogged; he carried his own execution method upon him, a cross. Nails pierced his hands and feet. He bled, asked God the Father to forgive the people for his death and, taking the punishment of the sins of the world upon him, he breathed his last breath… until three days later, he was resurrected! The rulers of this world and the people intended to harm Jesus, to get rid of him and shut him up, but God meant it for good, so that you and I can have our sins washed away, enter into our eternal destiny. Many times we question the goodness of God when we see evil things happen. God is not the author of evil, but He can most certainly use it to bring about His plans and purposes. What evil has happened to you? Can you trust in God, that somehow God will intend it for good in your life and others? Wait, trust God and see what happens as you open your hearts to Him.

… continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling
for it is God who works in you
to will and to act according to his good purpose.
