GOD’S WORD GIVES us the promise that “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Romans 10:13) As we worship we often sing “Shout to the Lord …nothing compares to the promise I have in you.” The promise we sing about is the promise of salvation that we have as we put our trust in Jesus Christ for every aspect of this life and for eternal life. As believers in Jesus our most precious treasure is “Christ in [us] the hope of glory.”(Colossians 1:27) In the midst of the hopeless situations that we and those around us sometimes face, we need to be messengers of hope. In fact the way you live your life and the attitude that you have as a Christian may be noticed by those who do not know Jesus. They may ask what is different about you. Take the opportunity to give a testimony about the difference Jesus has made in your life. Tell them that Jesus can make a difference in their lives as well. But in sharing with them please use wisdom, be gentle and be respectful. And above all count on the fact that the Holy Spirit has already begun to work in their lives. Your job is to cooperate with what God is already doing and keep pointing them towards Jesus.

But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord.
Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you
to give the reason for the hope that you have.
But do this with gentleness and respect,
(1 Peter 3:15)
