From the Pastor's Desk August 7 , 2005 HOW MANY KINGS are there in a kingdom? I think most people would answer: “one king.” In a true kingdom the king has final authority. I am not talking about modern day monarchies in which kings and queens simply give royal assent to what parliaments and senates have passed into law. In most monarchies of our day monarchs are simply figureheads without any real power, except perhaps when they attempt to exert moral influence from time to time. The kingdom of God is a kingdom where the King has real power and authority. We will one day all answer to him. The choices we make, the lives we live, the words we say must all be done with the understanding that one day we will meet our King and Maker. We will be called to account for what we have done with our lives. We will not be asked what others have done to us but what we have done to others. We will not be asked about gifts and opportunities we were not given but what we did with those we have received. Most of all we will be asked what we did with the Lord Jesus because it turns out that the Lamb of God who gave his life for your sins and mine is also the Lion of Judah, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. ****** "Great and marvelous are your deeds, Lord God Almighty. (Revelation 15:3)
