We are a church community in Vancouver which values worshipping God together with people of diverse cultural backgrounds. We are affiliated with the fellowship of churches of the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada.
In April 2001 the two congregations formerly known as Bethel Pentecostal Church and International Christian Centre merged to become one congregation. The purpose of merging was to combine resources and vision. The leadership of the two churches believed that by joining together we could more effectively advance the kingdom of God as one congregation in Vancouver. A part of the strategy was to track towards being a cell-based church.
Bethel Pentecostal Church was pioneered in the early 1950's as a German speaking congregation made up of immigrants from Europe. In early years of its existence as the primary focus was to reach out to German speaking immigrants. The church was also very active in its support of world missions through the German Branch of the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada. As European immigration decreased the church transitioned to become an English-speaking congregation. In later years the congregation began to reflect the community in that it became increasingly multicultural.
International Christian Centre was planted in 1989 by Trinity Christian Centre, Singapore as a part of its missions program. It started out as a primarily Singaporean church but quickly became multicultural in its outreach and make-up.
As we have joined together as one congregation it is our desire to continue reaching out to the diverse people in our community so that they together with us can worship God as representatives from every nation, tribe and language.
